Two videos via YouTube capturing some of the highlights of the European Central Bank’s first covered bond purchase programme (CBPP), produced after it was concluded*.

The first video charts spreads and issuance by sector before and during the CBPP using Google Motion Charts, with a link to a spreadsheet where users can manipulate the data themselves. The commentary explains how the charts work as well as highlighting various events and trends during the CBPP. (The video is best viewed on the YouTube site in a size larger than the default setting (zoom with your browser by pressing Ctrl and + symbol).)

The second video is just for fun. (CBPP veterans may recall OeNB governor Ewald Nowotny caused one of the only controversial moments in the programme’s execution even before buying had begun…)
