The ICMA Covered Bond Investor Council and The Covered Bond Report will be jointly hosting the Covered Bond Investor Conference on 10 May 2012 at the InterContinental Frankfurt, the first industry event designed to air and address investors’ concerns.

With an agenda drawn up by the ICMA Covered Bond Investor Council and The Covered Bond Report, the conference will explore those issues that are at the top of the investor base’s agenda. Panel discussions will take in the ICMA Covered Bond Investor Council’s transparency standards initiative as well as secondary market liquidity, new issue procedures, and legislative, regulatory and structuring developments.

Speakers and panellists representing regulators, issuers, intermediaries and other interested parties will be invited to participate on the basis of what they can contribute to the debate and independent of any sponsorship. The conference will therefore represent a fresh approach to covered bond events and should prove a unique date on the industry calendar.

“In a context of record issuance, investors are invited to many events on covered bonds but usually agendas are driven by issuers’ concerns,” said Claus Tofte Nielsen, chairman of the ICMA Covered Bond Investor Council. “The ICMA CBIC/Covered Bond Report event will be reviewing investors’ concerns and provide them with a forum to express their views and priorities.

“It is a welcome complement to other market events and key for investors.”

The conference will provide an ideal opportunity for those wishing to engage in a constructive dialogue with the buy-side. As with The Covered Bond Report website and magazine, the conference will be free for relevant investors.
