The European Covered Bond Council is establishing a global issues working group after its steering committee approved the move at a meeting on Thursday, and the industry body is now seeking a chairman and members for the group.

A proposal to establish such a working group came after the ECBC held a meeting in Barcelona on 8 September, the day before a plenary, for global stakeholders, bringing together members of the industry body and market participants from countries including Brazil, Canada, Singapore and South Korea.

The ECBC today (Monday) issued a call for candidatures for membership and chairmanship of the global issues working group. A first meeting of the working group is planned for early March 2016 alongside other events the ECBC is involved in at that time.
